The Yokota and Wilhelm Fellowship provides students and teachers around the world with the opportunity to engage in cultural exchange, expand their horizons, and develop valuable skills. Through this fellowship, participants have the opportunity to study or work abroad, collaborate with international partners, and contribute to a more interconnected world.

With the Yokota and Wilhelm Fellowship, students and teachers around the globe who wouldn't otherwise have access to exchange programs can fund their experience abroad, gaining the the opportunity to engage in cultures and perspectives. Our fellowship offers the flexibility for fellows to select a program from wherever they are, to wherever they choose to go.

Eligibility criteria

In order to apply for our fellowship, please ensure you meet the relevant eligibility criteria. Our applications our open to both US and non-US residents!

Students
  • At least 15 years of age at program start date
  • Enrolled in a recognized educational institution
  • Strong interest in cultural exchange
Teachers
  • Currently employed as a K-12 teacher
  • Track record of promoting cultural exchange
  • Strong interest in cultural exchange

Review Elegibility Criteria

Our fellowship program is open to students and teachers around the world, aiming to make cultural exchange accessible to all.

Application

Applications are open year-round and reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of their status within 1 month.

Notification and Preparation

Successful applicants will be notified by email within 1 month. Once notified, we will help you fund and prepare for your program.
